15-Year-Old Boy Kills Mother with Axe Over Confiscated Tablet

A 15-year-old boy in Russia has admitted to brutally killing his mother with an axe after she confiscated his tablet to enforce homework discipline, according to Russian police reports.

The teenager, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly attacked his mother while she was in bed at their home near Moscow.

He struck her multiple times on the head before allegedly dismembering her. Following the attack, the boy locked her bedroom door and calmly went to a local shop in Krasnaya Storozhka village to buy chocolate.

The boy, who is believed to have been playing the video game Minecraft prior to the incident, later turned himself in to police in Sergiev Posad, located about 46 miles northeast of Moscow.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Alexandra Gabbasova, an accountant at a furniture factory. Reports suggest she had grown increasingly worried about her son’s excessive gaming, as he was spending up to 12 hours a day online, neglecting his school assignments.

Local media outlet Mash reported that the conflict escalated when Gabbasova discovered her son had not completed his homework while on sick leave from school. In response, she confiscated his electronic devices, including his phone and tablet, prompting the boy’s violent reaction.

“He was upset, found an axe, and attacked his mother,” Mash reported. “He then went directly to the police and confessed to the crime.”

Authorities stated that the attack occurred approximately four hours before they arrived at the scene. According to Telegram channel 112, the boy struck his mother “randomly and chaotically” during the attack.

Following the incident, the teenager went to a shop, played video games, and then used a search engine to locate the nearest police station, where he reported the murder.

The boy is currently in police custody. Teachers have described him as “quiet” and noted that he was a student who “studied normally.
